Alcohol consumption during pregnancy can have lifelong effects so it’s important to continue to raise awareness about Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder and support those affected. That, from the Minister responsible for Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority, Lori Carr, who adds that agencies that promote awareness and prevention of FASD are receiving $220,775 in total from the province.
The Saskatchewan Prevention Institute will receive almost $146,000 of that to help with outreach work, by sharing information and resources on FASD with community leaders and local service providers.
A news release from the government says the FASD Network of Saskatchewan will receive $75,000 , also for awareness and education, including focused workshops to post-secondary students.
