Weeds several feet high are being reported on city property across Saskatoon, leading citizens to question the City policy on the matter. It was also speculated that there could be staffing shortages or equipment issues that are causing the overgrowths.

In an emailed response to the CJWW newsroom, the City of Saskatoon says that the Construction & Design team is finalizing a weed mitigation plan and landscaping plan for the centre medians along Circle Drive North between Millar Avenue and Alberta Avenue that were reconfigured as part of the larger construction project along that stretch. Other than that, the Parks Department confirms that mowing of other areas along the Circle Drive expressway and its buffers are on track as scheduled.
