A five-day enforcement project conducted by Pelican Narrows RCMP resulted in the arrests of 8 people, as well as the seizure of drugs and firearms.
On December 16, officers seized several knives and machetes, bear mace, drug trafficking paraphernalia, and a small amount of methamphetamine during a search warrant execution at a residence on Linklater Street.
As a result of investigation, 20-year-old Braden Michel from Pelican Narrows was arrested. He is scheduled to appear in court in Pelican Narrows on February 6. Two other adult males and one youth female were also arrested on outstanding warrants at the residence.
Then, on December 17th, officers seized 53 small bags of methamphetamine, a sawed-off shotgun, an airsoft gun and ammunition during a search warrant execution at a residence on McKay Road.
As a result, 35-year-old Solomon Thomas, 31-year-old April Custer, 25-year-old Newton Ballantyne and a young girl, all from Pelican Narrows were arrested. Their court date was December 19th.
Finally, on December 18th, officers seized 2.5 grams of cocaine and a gram of methamphetamine both divided up into small packages, an air rifle, a shotgun, two sawed-off shotguns, a rifle, ammunition and trafficking paraphernalia during a search warrant execution at a residence on Pine Drive. Some of the firearms were located hidden in a wall of the home and others were buried in the snow outside.
As a result of investigation, 27-year-old Colton Bighetty from Pelican Narrows, 27-year-old Brett Michel from The Pas, Manitoba, and 25-year-old Ovide Michel from Pelican Narrows were arrested. Their court date was December 19th, as well.
