It’s my Parting Shot for the return of The Fearless Predictor and Week 5 C-F-L picks…..
Three weeks ago, before my holiday time, I asked you to once again believe and trust in me that I would be truthful with predictions until I returned. By quick review, after a 3-1 opening week, I was 3-1 in Week 2 – missing the Saskatchewan win in Hamilton – was 2-2 in Week 3 – still not believing in the Roughriders at home over the Tiger-Cats plus missing out on B-C’s win in Winnipeg – then another 2-2 in Week 4 as I thought Toronto would win the battle of unbeaten against Montreal in Hogtown while I still refuse to believe the Bombers are winless! On to Week 5…
…which starts tonight with the Green and White at home to Toronto. I’m still somewhat shocked that the Riders are 3-0 while the Argos are 2-1. Both teams have quarterback question marks in my mind. Saskatchewan’s is obvious with Shea Patterson’s first C-F-L start while I’m not convinced about Cameron Dukes as the guy in Toronto. But, Dukes has played three games while Patterson has had a mediocre half under centre. I’m taking the Argos by less than a field goal!
Tomorrow, it’s 2-1 Ottawa at 0-4 Winnipeg. I’m at a point where my predictions go by the law of averages – winless teams are bound to win and unbeaten teams are bound to lose. Hence, I’ve got the Bombers prevailing by more than a touchdown!
On Saturday, it’s 2-1 Calgary at 4-0 Montreal. The Alouettes are hard to pick against as they look to be in a class by themselves in the early stages of this season. I’m saying Montreal by less than a touchdown!
That leaves Sunday and the battle of the Cats with 3-1 B-C at 0-4 Hamilton. Between home field and the law of averages, this is your “upset special” with the Tiger-Cats winning by less than a field goal!
The overall record is 10-6 going into this weekend. I’ll be happy to get the Riders’ prediction wrong tonight!
That’s my Parting Shot. I’m Les Lazaruk…and it turned out nice again!
