A Leger survey held after the byelection where the Liberals lost a long-held seat states that the majority of Canadians, at 66 per cent, believe Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will stay on to lead his party into the next election. Nine per cent believe he will step down this summer, 11 per cent by September, 8 per cent by Thanksgiving and 7 per cent by Christmas.
From that same survey, the Leger poll results show that 82 per cent of Conservative voters and NDP voters think their leaders should take their party into the next election. For Liberal voters, that number is only 63 per cent.
