New investigative leads into the disappearance of Samuel LaChance 37 years ago, has led the Prince Albert Police Service Historical Crimes and Missing Persons Unit to launch a new search Tuesday.
The fresh inquiry into the missing person investigation, due to previously undiscovered information, has led search teams to an area on the Big River First Nation. In a news release, the Prince Albert Police Service says they cannot disclose specific details on the new lead, but are pursuing all avenues and remain committed to bringing closure to the family of Samuel LaChance. The renewed search involves RCMP specialized units, including the Saskatchewan RCMP Historical Case Unit and Alberta RCMP Dog Services. Anyone who may have information regarding Samuel LaChance’s disappearance or activities on July 29th of 1987 is urged to contact the Prince Albert Police Service or Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers.
