The Prince Albert Police Service says its officers responded to 55 calls for service Monday night and made 10 arrests which included several serious incidents such as an aggravated assault shortly after 2 a.m.
The call was regarding an injured person at a residence in the unit block of 22nd Street East. Officers located a 23-year-old man with gunshot wounds who was transported to Victoria Hospital. He remains in critical but stable condition. A police presence remains in the area as officers continue the investigation. No arrests have been made.
At approximately 2:20 a.m. a taxi driver reported that his vehicle had been stolen at gunpoint in the 3200 block of 2nd Avenue West. Three suspects fled the scene in the stolen taxi. The vehicle was later recovered in the area of Lakeview Drive. They are described as Male 1: 6’3” tall, wearing an orange and yellow t-shirt, jogging pants, backpack, and hat; Male 2: shorts, light colored socks and shoes, hat, large chain necklace; Male 3: hoody, dark pants, cross-body style bag. A canine track led to the recovery of a machete and a firearm; however, the suspects remain at large.
Around 2:42 a.m. police were called to a business in the 200 block of 15th Street West where they discovered a 27-year-old man suffering from stab wounds. The victim is in Victoria Hospital in serious but stable condition. A backpack was stolen from the victim and has not been recovered. Two youth were arrested; however, no charges have been laid and the file remains under investigation.
