Carla Beck in a campaign stop in Regina says ultimately the question Saskatchewan residents need to ask is Are you better off under Scott Moe? She suggests the answer is no, saying the province ranks last in the country on health care and education and second last on economic growth.
The Leader of the NDP also says Saskatchewan reports the highest rates of violent crime in the nation and families are paying 40 per cent more PST overall since Scott Moe came to power.
Those are similar statements as made by the leader of the United Party which experts suggest could eat away at some of the Sask. Party’s voting base. Jon Hromek says the election is a referendum on Scott Moe’s record of managing the province. He also points to violent crime rates and mismanagement which had led to cost overruns on projects like the Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert saying taxpayers have to pick up the bill.
Hromek says the United Party would cut the PST in half from 6 per cent to three and ax the provincial 15 cent a litre gas tax. Hromek says, “The Saskatchewan United Party is the only conservative option for voters.”
