The School Resource Unit is investigating an incident involving bear spray at a local high school.
Just before 11:30 a.m. Thursday, police were called to a school on Rusholme Road after reports of bear spray being discharged in the hallway. Officers discovered that a physical altercation had taken place between two 17-year-old students, during which one student used bear spray.
Both students initially left the scene, but the victim later returned. The school was evacuated for the rest of the day to ventilate the area.
Medavie Health Services West and the Saskatoon Fire Department responded to assist those affected by the spray.
Authorities are still searching for the suspect, and a School Resource Officer is actively investigating the incident.
