For many, aging isn’t easy. In an effort to make the transition into your golden years effortless, the Saskatoon Council on Aging is hosting its 25th annual on Seniors Showcase.
June Gawdun with the Council on Aging says the event will be held Tuesday at TCU Place between 9:00am to 3:00pm. There will be a variety of acts and live music, as well as over 80 exhibitors.
“There will be booth on fitness, health, lots of different products for seniors, travel, insurance. Just about anything that anybody would want to learn about.”
She adds that there will be opportunities for attendees to get involved with the displays, with product samples being offered and hands on demonstrations taking place.
“We may have some of the original volunteers there that started Spotlight on Seniors, and I was actually one of them. I was on the committee when they first started it, and it’s been going strong.”
Gawdun also explains what her organization is all about.
“The Saskatoon Council on Aging is a non-profit chary. We’ve been around for 33 years now, and we operate out of the Saskatoon Field House. We have a whole bunch of resources for older adults, lifelong learning programs, programs to address isolation, and more.”
Tickets are $15 at the door, cash only.
