The Extentionists is hosted by two well-known agricultural communicators; Jay Whetter with the Canola Council of Canada and Toban Dyck, a southern Manitoba farmer and veteran freelance writer
Every second Tuesday, the long form podcast will feature researchers, innovators, farmers and others to explore ground-breaking ideas and initiatives.
“There have been a lot of cuts to extension programs across the Prairies,” Whetter said. “We felt there was an opportunity to come in and talk to primarily a farmer audience about new research, business management ideas, new ways about thinking about life in general.”
“It is making some of these complex topics a little more interesting and accessible to a wider audience,” Toban said. The podcast will have a little bit of everything from information to humour.
The first guest is Allana Koch, Chair of the Global Institute of Food Security at the University of Saskatchewan..
CJWW Agriculture Director Neil Billinger spoke to Jay and Toban about their new podcast, which can be found on all main platforms and on their own website.
