The City of Saskatoon is addressing rumours on social media that the Confederation Mall will be redeveloped as part of the city’s plan to implement a Bus Rapid Transit system.
The city says this is untrue, and any future redevelopment of the site would be determined by the landowners.
However, in 2019, City Administration identified several Transit Villages. These would be potential areas for future privately led redevelopment along BRT corridors. The sites were located at Confederation Mall, Centre Mall, and University Heights, however the landowners didn’t want to consider redevelopment at the time, so the Transit Villages Plans were formed as information only.
