The Saskatchewan Health Authority is alerting the public to possible Salmonella typhi exposure in Martensville which can lead to Typhoid fever.
The SHA says the risk to those exposed is considered low and Typhoid fever infection is rare and while serious, it is treatable with antibiotics.
The exposure would be due to consuming products from Domino’s Pizza on Centennial Drive South in Martensville between October 11 and 19th.
The SHA says Typhoid fever can cause fever, headache, feeling unwell, fatigue, rash on the upper body, constipation, diarrhea and/or vomiting. It is spread though eating food and/or water contaminated with the bacteria. Symptoms develop anywhere from three to 60 days but typically it is within eight to 14 days after exposure to the bacteria.
If you consumed food products from this location during these dates, and are experiencing symptoms of typhoid fever, seek care from your health professional or call 811. You should indicate to them that you ate at this location during the dates listed.
