Kleinsasser was honoured during the Saskatchewan Pork Industry Symposium in Saskatoon on Tuesday evening.
Kleinsasser has been the Minister at the Rosetown Hutterite Colony since 1995 and was involved in the provincial hog industry for nearly 17 years. He started in equipment fabrication and moved on to manage the Colony’s 400 sow-farrow-to-finish hog operation. He served on the Sask Pork Board of Directors between 2002 to 2009 and is a member of the provincial Agri-Food Council, an independent board that supervises and monitors agri-food agencies in Saskatchewan.
Kleinsasser was the first Chair of Farm & Food Care Saskatchewan when it transitioned from the Farm Animal Council in 2014.
