Highway Hotline is reporting some potentially dangerous fog in several areas of the province. Affected regions include Lumsden, Weyburn, Carlyle, Moosomin, Milestone, Moose Jaw, Swift Current, Outlook and Qu’Appelle.
The Hotline also reports icy conditions on several highways near Weyburn, Yorkton, Saskatoon, North Battleford, Kerrobert, Dorintosh, and Stony Rapids.
In addition to that, the southeastern corner of the province is to expect 10-15 cm of snow to accumulate by tomorrow morning.
Environment Canada warns that higher amounts of 15 cm are possible over the higher terrain in the Moose Mountains and Riding Mountain areas.
The public should be cautious of icy road conditions, specifically Sunday morning.
Speaking of which, the Saskatoon Police Service is asking residents of Saskatoon to take extra care while driving today after freezing rain fell overnight. Temperatures are expected to remain hovering around 0 this morning, so motorists are asked to allow extra time during their commute.
A caller to the newsroom has reported that the Circle Drive South or Gordie Howe bridge is covered in a sheet of ice, and there are roughly 10 vehicles spun out and smashed up in the eastbound lanes. The cars are blocking lanes of traffic in different spots, so vehicles coming through will likely have to weave through until either the ice melts or city crews can take some deicing measures. Motorists should use caution and avaoid the area if possible.
