Between 7 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Saskatchewan RCMP received 44 reports of vehicle collisions and incidents. The most common of the incidents were vehicles in the ditch and jackknifed semis. Between midnight and 8 this morning (Tues), RCMP received 14 reports of accidents on the highways. Two were reports of collisions involving deer. One was a three-vehicle accident west of Guernsey in the Humboldt area. Another was a jackknifed semi west of Belle Plaine. Just before 9 this morning (Tues), there was a semi rollover on Highway 1, east of Indian Head. No injuries have been reported to police from these accidents.
Both the Saskatchewan RCMP and the Saskatoon Police Service are encouraging drivers to be careful on the roads after responding to numerous accidents today. Between midnight and 4 pm, officers attended 22 collisions, while Special Constables in Communications have also received several other calls relating to accidents where the police didn’t need to attend. There were no serious injuries reported to police.
