Both the Saskatchewan Party government and the Official Opposition MLAs were sworn in today, with the Sask Party MLAs sworn in this morning and the NDP this afternoon. The Government House Leader, Tim McLeod, says it will be a short two-week fall session, which begins next week, so they will get to work on their priority commitments, which are affordability, education, health care and community safety.
This time around, the Official Opposition has doubled their number of seats in the Legislative Assembly. Leader, Carla Beck, says every NDP incumbent who ran for re-election won their seat. Beck adds that in the election, the people of Saskatchewan made it clear that they want change, but they also sent a message to the NDP that there is still more work to do, but she believes the Official Opposition is up for the challenge.
