Saskatchewan RCMP have charged three people and seized multiple firearms following an investigation into drug trafficking in the Battlefords area.
This past Saturday search warrants were executed at two homes – one in the 800 block of 107th Street and one in the 1000 block of 105th Street – in North Battleford.
While officers arrested 16 individuals, 13 were later released without charges.
In a news release the RCMP say while executing the search warrants, officers located and seized methamphetamine and other evidence of drug trafficking, three firearms, ammunition, three replica firearms and body armour.
Heather Mooswa, a 27-year-old woman from North Battleford is facing weapons and trafficking charges while 22-year-old Joannie Mooswa, from North Battleford is charged with one count, possession for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine and 32-year-old Zackery Sanderson from Kinistino is facing four different weapons related charges.
The three made their first court appearance in North Battleford Provincial Court on Monday. Saskatchewan RCMP’s Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT), North Battlefords Crime Reduction Team – Gang Task Force (CRT-GTF) and Crime Reduction Team (CRT), and the Battlefords Detachment took part in the investigation.
