The Saskatoon Police Service and the Saskatoon Fire Department have suspended the river search for 48-year-old Derek Sarazin, who was reported missing on November 23rd. A news release from the Police Service says the investigation into his disappearance remains open. Anyone with information is asked to contact the police or leave an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers. Saskatoon Police and the Fire Department began a coordinated search of the river north of the University Bridge to beyond the Canadian Pacific Railway Bridge on Monday.
Investigators don’t believe foul play is a factor. When the Police Service originally asked for the public’s tips to find Derek, it was mentioned he likes to walk along the east and west side of the riverbank.
