Heavy snowfall warnings and extreme cold warnings blanket much of Saskatchewan this morning.
Extreme cold wind chills between minus 40 and minus 45 are expected this morning with wind chills moderating later today. This affects an area north to Meadow Lake and south of Leader east to Yorkton including Saskatoon, Prince Albert, Nipawin, Melfort and Tisdale.
A heavy snowfall warning is in effect for much of southern Saskatchewan where 10 to 20 centimetres of snow forecast. Environment Canada says snowfall will move into western parts of Saskatchewan on this morning and eastern parts of the province on Wednesday afternoon. The snow will be heavy at times with a widespread 10 cm expected. Pockets of up to 20 cm are also possible, especially from Kindersley to Moose Jaw to Estevan. Snow will ease by daybreak Thursday.
Meanwhile for some folks on the western side of the province it is a double whammy. Kindersley, Eston, Leader and Rosetown are under both extreme cold and snowfall warnings.
