Health Canada reports that a play mat available on Amazon and manufactured in China has been recalled due to a choking hazard. It’s the FLAGAV 79 X 59-inch play mat with roads, hot air ballons, ferris wheels and truck graphic designs on it.

Frequent use of detergents with alcohol and chemical ingredients can cause the coating to peel off in small parts, which may pose a choking hazard for young children. As of mid-December, the company hasn’t received any reports of incidents or injuries in Canada. The company reports that 1,295 of these mats have been sold in Canada since this past September.

The advice from Health Canada is to Immediately stop using the mat and contact FLAGAV to obtain updated product instructions.
