With the holiday season now basically here, the Prince Albert Police Service advises that officers are working to keep the community safe from impaired drivers.
Leading up to the holiday season, Combined Traffic Services Saskatchewan in Prince Albert, along with Mothers Against Drunk Driving, conducted two check stops, primarily targeting impaired drivers. The first was December 14th. The Prince Albert Police Service says 150 vehicles were stopped and 4 impaired drivers were removed from public roads. Then on December 20th 170 vehicles were stopped, leading to another four impaired drivers removed from the roads.
To help make it a happy and safe holiday season, the advice from P.A. Police is to find a safe ride, call a sober friend or family member, take a taxi or stay the night. You can also utilize programs such as Operation Red Nose for the holiday season.
