On Christmas Eve Rosetown RCMP responded to a serious accident 15 kilometres west of Rosetown which involved multiple vehicles and claimed the life of a woman from Alberta.
The accident was called in around 8:30 p.m. after two semis jackknifed and an SUV hit one of the semis while other vehicles left the roadway while trying to avoid them.
A passenger of the SUV was declared deceased by EMS at the scene. She has been identified as a 25-year-old from Calgary. The man driving the SUV was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No other significant injuries were reported to police.
The RCMP in an earlier news release said they couldn’t confirm that the collision was weather related however officers in the area were reporting that roads Tuesday night were very slippery. Rosetown RCMP continue to investigate with the assistance of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist.
