Two males are facing numerous charges in connection to an armed robbery early Sunday morning around 5 on 110th Street in North Battleford where a cab was stolen. Battleford RCMP determined the teens approached the taxi, threatened the driver and stole the vehicle. The driver wasn’t physically injured.
Officers later found the cab abandoned on Mosquito, Grizzly Bear’s Head, Lean Man First Nation. An RCMP Police Dog team was brought in to help in the search, leading them to a home. Police say during the track, officers noticed a male walking through the snow. He was arrested, and then the second teen was found inside the home. He is alleged to have spat at one of the officers.
The charges for 18-year-old Tazer Mosquito from North Battleford include robbery with other offensive weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and disguised with intent to commit an offence. Among the charges for A 17-year-old boy, also from North Battleford, are robbery with other offensive weapon, resist/obstruct a peace officer, assaulting a peace officer and carrying a concealed weapon. The two appear in North Battleford Provincial Court on Wednesday.
