The world’s largest leader of crop inputs and services, Nutrien made big news today by announcing they will be constructing a new Saskatoon office at the River Landing development downtown.

President and CEO of Nutrien, Chuck Magro says the new tower titled “Nutrien Tower” will become the tallest building in Saskatchewan once it’s completed. “It will define, I think the city skyline for years to come and it will have the latest amenities.”

Those amenities include an on-site conference facility, a fitness center and a rooftop winter garden and patio.

The new Nutrien Tower will also be environmentally sustainable as it will include floor-to-ceiling windows that will allow natural light to flow in.

Magro says the tower will also be a multi-million dollar investment.

The President and CEO says the company made the decision to build the new tower as the new building will be in a great location and that it will make the City of Saskatoon very proud.

Magro says the new facility will allow the company to expand and that the company may have to look elsewhere to house more employees prior to the opening of the new tower.

“The building won’t be ready until 2021 so we may have to find some alternate space right now and we’re actively trying to do that.”

The President and CEO says the tower will allow for the company to expand from approximately 300 to 325 employees to more than 400 employees.

Currently in Saskatoon the tallest building is the La Renaissance Apartments on Spadina Crescent East which is 79.3 meters tall and the tallest building in the province is Mosaic Potash Tower in Regina which stands at 84.5 meters tall.
