As of today you will see the newly renamed and reconfigured Saskatchewan Highway Patrol out in full force. Two weeks ago the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement group was renamed to reflect its expanded policing responsibilities which include responding to 9-1-1 calls, investigating impaired drivers, enforcing speed limits and other traffic violations, responding to accidents and taking action when offences are committed. It is part of efforts to combat rural crime.
