RCMP in Alberta had to call in the military after seizing drugs, weapons, cash and hand grenades. An investigation into drug trafficking in Red Deer and Sylvan Lake led to the execution of a search warrant at a Sylvan Lake residence on June 27th. In addition to methamphetamine, fentanyl, and cocaine, officers also picked up over $25 thousand dollars, seven fireams, body armour and three hand grenades. Members of Canadian Armed Forces Wainwright dropped in to pick up the grenades. Two people were arrested on a variety of charges including drug and weapons possession.
