Quite an interesting weekend, heading into the Canada West Conference bye week for all six football teams.

Saturday, it’s a showdown for first place as Calgary hosts Alberta in a battle of 4-1 teams. Friday night, it’s a pair of 1-4 schools colliding to see who keeps their playoff hopes alive as U-B-C travels to Regina and, at Griffiths Stadium Friday night, it’s two programs at 3-2…looking to keep their hopes of hosting a playoff game alive as the Saskatchewan Huskies welcome Manitoba. As for the notion of the Dogs getting revenge for an opening weekend 43-19 loss in Winnipeg to the Bisons, U of S head coach Scott Flory isn’t preaching that.
