Saskatoon Fire Department crews had to deal with three fires in the space of about one hour Thursday night. The first was a garage fire about 9:40 at a boarded-up home on the 100 block of Avenue K South. It was fully involved by the time they arrived. The blaze was under control within one minute of arriving on scene. There were no injuries. No cause or damage estimate yet.
About 15 minutes later, multiple 911 calls came in about a semi-trailer unit ablaze on the 100 block of 71st street West. It also was fully involved by the time they arrived. The fire was quickly put out and a nearby commercial building was protected from damage.
Then, around 10:40, a 911 call came in about a structure fire on the 400 block of Avenue V South. A fire was found on the main floor of the residential building. it took less than 30 minutes to bring under control. There were no occupants. Again, no injuries. An investigator is looking into the cause and evaluating the damage.
